NSDA Scholarship Programs
A key component of the NSDA mandate is to support educational opportunities for doulas in Nova Scotia. Recognizing the costs that are often associated with pursuing professional development opportunities and also responding to a need expressed by our Doula community, the NSDA has established several continuing education scholarship programs.

The purpose of the scholarship programs are to:
Continue to promote excellence and professionalism in the Nova Scotia doula community by supporting NSDA Members and Associates to participate in continuing education opportunities that advance individuals' practice and the profession within our province;
Facilitate the pursuit of continuing education opportunities for NSDA Members and Associates, enabling fairer and more equal access to these opportunities for individuals who may face financial barriers to participation;
Contribute to the growth and development of the wider birth community as well as to public awareness of the Doula profession by requiring recipients of the bursary to share widely the knowledge and expertise gained from their educational experience with NSDA members and their communities.
The NSDA offers two (2) scholarships per year: The Hillary Marentette Scholarship for Certified Doulas each April/May, and the Krista Donnelly Scholarship for Certifying Doulas each October/November.
If our scholarship are currently closed, you can contact our Director of Education, Kelsey Marr, for information regarding the next round of applications.
