A Postpartum Doula:

• Offers education, nonjudgmental physical and emotional support during the first three months or more following the addition of a new baby to a family;

• Assists with newborn care, family adjustment, meal preparation and light household tidying;

• Offers evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents and makes appropriate referrals when necessary.

This workshop will be of interest to:

• Those who have an interest in postpartum care and who wish to become a trained doula;

• Health care professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of postpartum support.
